The first game in the history for 'The Sync' couldn't have gone much better as a friendly away at Cuxton ended 10-7 in favour of the travelling Parkwood.
Having not played together much beforehand, it was a rocky start. The hosting Cuxton scored early on, however an equaliser from Dan Wright levelled the score. It was almost Deja-vu as Cuxton went 2-1 up, but another goal from Wright once again levelled things. The hosts scored on the brink of half time, and the Sync went into the break 3-2 down.
The second half was a different story. It was goals galore! Kian Surridge converted into an open net making it 3-3 before another goal from Dan Wright put Parkwood in the lead for the first time this afternoon.
More goals from Wright, with the occasional response from Cuxton, gave Sync a comfortable cushion before Matt Elliott scored from his own goal line as the Cuxton keeper was off his line, Elliott saw this and pumped the ball all the way up the other end of the pitch, over the 'keeper and into the goal.
Another for Surridge followed, and more bagged by Wright, gave Sync a 9-5 lead. The hosts scored 2 more before 1 more goal from Wright, made by a great piece of defending from Luke Brown, saw the Sync score their tenth and final goal.
The youthful Cuxton played well, but ultimately the experience of Parkwood was the difference in this fixture.
We thank our opponents from across the river for the game and we wish them all well for the future.
