The following is a letter from the President of Parkwood Sync Football Club.
Hello All,
I appreciate many of you may not be aware of who Parkwood Sync FC are, and that would be understandable. Formed 2 years ago as a 5-a-side team by a group of friends who just wanted to play more football together, and to help bring a community to the Parkwood area, situated in Medway, Kent. Just one game has been played in those 2 years, and we have ultimately failed what we set out to achieve.
We have thus decided to switch our approach and with this I would like to present to you the new plan for the future of PSFC. It's no real shock to anyone a part of the club currently that we're never going to play a game in our current state. We have no players, and the ones we do have have much different schedules to each other so getting games and opponents on has been tough.
So, I would like to share our idea for the future of this club. In short, the idea is to become a sort of "trialist" team. In more detail, we want to build a club that will let players who are without a club and want to play help get their fitness up and get ready for pre-season, despite not having a club, and obviously further on. We want to make a hub for "free agent" players from all levels who aspire to play in non league, or perhaps further up the pyramid, but are without a club for pre season sow e would like to help fill that void by letting these players get some matches in and help build towards their goals.
We also hope that by doing this, the players who will play under us will hopefully get picked up by clubs within the pyramid and go on to do big things in their football careers. But our main goal here is to give these free agent players without clubs during pre-season an opportunity to play some games that they would usually miss out on should they not be with a club during this period.
Of course, we are also open to players who are already apart of other teams. We want to build a community for players to come and work on their fitness so if you are already apart of a club and want to come and play more games during the pre-season period then you are also welcome.
We here at PSFC think this is a great idea. Essentially it will give a platform and a hub to players, both with and without a club, who:
Are looking for new clubs
Want to get more training and match experience in during pre-season
Want to work on their fitness
Just want to play more football
Now obviously we don't want the "original" side that the club was created on, our friend group, to be scrapped off. So we could have a sort of "second string" 5 a side team on the side which will keep the original idea of the club and our little group still intact and still involved.
We hope this idea is something players and clubs can all get behind, and we look forward to hearing some of the feedback we receive from this statement. Of course, this is just an idea at this stage and nothing is set in stone just yet. We will be hosting the PSFC Annual General Meeting this week where we will discuss this further depending on the interest we receive. However, we hope this will be successful and we feel there is no such thing like this out in the football world currently so we hope to fill this gap.
More information about our idea will be shared and explained depending on how popular our idea is.
I appreciate this is a lot of information so I hope I've made it somewhat clear to understand. I am more than happy to answer any questions or enquiries you have about this so you can reach us via our social media platforms, or alternatively you may eMail me at: parkwoodsyncfc@gmail.com
If you are interested in this idea, whether that is playing or getting involved another way, then please do make your interest heard! We as a club do understand this will need a large amount of planning, and potential financial backing, but we are willing to fight and try for this so we really would like to hear back from the football world regarding our idea, and this is why we are putting out this statement to see if all the planning will be worth it!
As said, we hope everyone reading considers this, and we hope to have some feedback to work on regarding our idea!
Thank you very much for reading what I appreciate is a long letter, and I do hope what I have written has made sense.
Many thanks again,
Dan Wright
PSFC President
